Harrison Lefrak Is Divorced

Harrison Lefrak, the billionaire scion of New York City real estate giant LeFrak Organization, is reportedly getting a divorce from his wife. The pair married within the last five years and had a son together, Page Six reports. Harrison is a co-managing director at LeFrak and his father, Richard, runs the family business. His wife, Katherine Embiricos LeFrak, is an heir to the Embiricos Greek shipping fortune.

LeFrak’s namesake company has long been synonymous with middle-class housing in the city, but it has diversified into more luxury-style buildings in places like Miami and Seattle. The company also invests in office and retail properties, as well as private businesses in areas like energy, securities, and private companies.

Harrison Lefrak: The Man Behind the Lefrak Organization

Founded by Harry Lefrak, a glazier who moved to Brooklyn in the early 1900s and eventually became wealthy enough to buy land for homebuilding, the family firm now owns vast property holdings across the country. Forbes ranks the family’s net worth at $6.6 billion. Sam Lefrak took over the company in 1948 and aggressively scaled it up as the post-war construction boom began.

The firm is one of the biggest real estate dynasties in the world, and its holdings include the massive LeFrak City in Queens. In Florida, it’s developing the high-rise condominium towers at 9001 Collins Avenue in Surfside and is working on a co-development of SoleMia with Turnberry Associates in North Miami Beach.
